“You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.” – John Wooden
Tad and Toni were invited to Topeka to visit Advisors Excel headquarters to speak at their employee team-building day and train over 350 of their employees.
Freedom Financial chooses to work with Advisors Excel because they share our core values of putting their clients and the community first. As evidence of that, after the employee team-building day, everyone split into smaller groups to help out around the Topeka area.
Tad and Toni’s group went to Let’s Help and organized their food pantry, swept and mopped the kitchen and dining room floors. They also received a tour of the entire building and were fortunate enough to hear about how they provide free meals to anyone that comes through their doors.
Let’s Help also holds educational classes to help people get their high school GED, and provides resources to help them get into college and apply for a job. They also help homeless people to find places to live. For more information about “Let’s Help” check out their website www.letshelpinc.org.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Freedom Financial proudly supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Their mission is to find cures for blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
In 2014, Toni was honored to win the Woman of the Year award from the Alabama/Gulf Coast division of LLS. In a 10-week campaign Toni raised $62,641 (surpassing her goal of $25,000) that went towards blood cancer research and to support medical bills for children and families in the state of Alabama. This qualified her to be recognized in the National Woman of the Year campaign.
During the campaign, Toni was able to spend time with local survivors, as well as the Boy and Girl of the Year, Cooper and Kyli.
